All the Light We Cannot See Review:
In the novel, the World War II scenario is portrayed with great craftsmanship using the story of a German boy and a blind French girl who live different lives in different states, however, their paths eventually end up crossing. The girl’s name is Marie-Laure Blanc who lives in Paris while the boy Werner Pfennig is an orphan living in Zollverein which is a coal-mining town.
Werner is a very intelligent boy with a god-gifted skill of repairing electronic items such as radios. Later in the story, he finds a broken radio and listens to music and science programs alongside his sister. On the other hand, Marie-Laure has to flee Paris because of the German invasion of France and she is now taking refuge with her Uncle Etienne who is a war veteran.
All the Light We Cannot See received critical reception where the critics praised its character development and writing style. However, the stereotyping of the Nazis by the author was criticized. The book became The New York Times Best Seller and is regarded as one of the most successful and well-written WWII novels ever.
