The White Tiger tells the story and discusses the book’s central themes such as class struggle and globalization from the eyes of a young boy named Balram Halwai. Besides these two major themes, the book’s other prevalent themes are caste, loyalty, corruption, poverty, and religious issues. Balram’s story goes through different stages with ups and downs, and we get to know him and the issues surrounding him in between.
For instance, Balram Halwai goes to Delhi to find a decent job and gets a job as a chauffeur from a reputed and rich landlord. However, he doesn’t stick long with his career and goes to Bangalore, where some unforeseen circumstances lead him to murder his new master and Balram fleas with his money.
