This tool rebuilds the PDF with a compact object-stream structure. That can reduce overhead in some files, but it does not aggressively recompress embedded photographs. Image-heavy PDFs that are already optimized may shrink very little or can occasionally become larger.

Frequently asked questions
Will this reduce image quality?
This implementation does not deliberately downsample or recompress embedded images, so it is intended as structural optimization rather than lossy image compression.
Why did my PDF barely shrink?
Many PDFs are already compressed internally. If most of the file size comes from JPEG images or other already-compressed content, structural optimization may have little effect.
Are my PDF files uploaded?
No. The optimization operation runs in your browser and the PDF file is not sent to a YourPDFs processing server.
Can I optimize a password-protected PDF?
Not with this tool. Use an unprotected copy that you are authorized to process.
