Are my PDF files uploaded?
No. The merge operation runs locally in your browser. Your PDF files are not sent to the YourPDFs server.
Does merging reduce PDF quality?
The pages are copied into a new PDF rather than rendered as screenshots, so normal page quality is preserved.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
Not currently. Remove protection using a trusted tool you are authorized to use, then merge the unprotected copies.
Can I change the file order?
Yes. Reorder the selected files before merging; their pages will appear in that same order in the final PDF. This is useful for combining a cover page, main document, appendices, or scanned attachments into one correctly ordered file.
How many PDFs can I merge?
There is no fixed server-side file count because processing is local, but very large files or a large number of PDFs can use significant browser memory. If the browser becomes slow, merge smaller groups first and then combine the results.
Will bookmarks or advanced PDF features always survive?
Basic pages are copied into the merged document, but some advanced PDF features such as document-level scripts, complex forms, or specialized metadata may not be preserved exactly. Check the merged file if those features matter.
